The Western Mule Clip by Sagebrush

Last year, I was sitting in Mike’s (Red Rabbit Trading Co.) back yard in the soaring Texas heat, whilst sipping a beer - I looked down at my Birkenstock Bostons and all I could think was 'how can I make these more interesting and western?’

Low and behold, The Western Mule Clip by Sagebrush.

As soon as the idea came, Mike and I got straight into his workshop to design an accessory that can be easily attached onto your mules. 

For those who have not heard of Red Rabbit Trading Company, based in Lockhart TX, Mike French is a master silversmith who uses traditional silversmithing techniques to create incredible one off pieces. From tufa casting and pouring ingot silver to hand-stamping, filing, and cutting stones, Mike does it all single-handedly, with craftsmanship that honours the antique feel and timeless beauty of the past.

Mike’s body of work is inspired by the unequivocal beauty of southwestern landscapes and the styles of vintage jewellery that were produced by skilled local craftsmen prior to the 1950s.

Each pair of Western Mule Clips is cast from White Bronze and Hand Finished to bring out the original Southwestern stamped details.
